- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast cut into thin strips
- 2 tbsp olive oil divided
- 1 cup whole milk
- ⅓ cup parmesan cheese adjust for desired thickness
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- salt & pepper to taste
Season the sliced chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant but not browned. Add dried herbs.
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Pour in the milk, Dijon mustard, and gradually add Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Adjust the thickness by adding more Parmesan if needed. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste preferences.
Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon some of the sauce over them, and simmer on the stovetop until the chicken is cooked through.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.
