History and Origin 🕰️
Originating from Italy, gnocchi has a history as delightful as its taste. The word “gnocchi” is derived from the Italian word “nocca,” meaning knuckle or knot. This pasta variant has been a comfort food staple for generations, evolving from simple potato dumplings to the decadent dish we cherish today.
The roots of Alfredo sauce trace back to Rome in the early 20th century. Alfredo di Lelio, a Roman restaurateur, created the iconic Fettuccine Alfredo to bring comfort to his pregnant wife. Today, this creamy sauce has transcended borders and found its way into various pasta dishes worldwide, including our delightful Gnocchi Alfredo with Caramelized Onions.
